I just came across this HILARIOUS Video (and genius marketing promo video) created By The Spinto Band.
Who are they? I didn’t know them till 15 minutes ago (turns out they are a lovely Wilmington, DE based indie pop band with 3 albums out) and it is amazing to watch their fantastic S–t People at SXSW DON’T Say video spread across the net like wildfire. Here it is:
And it’s NOT TOO LATE to get some of your own marketing demons conquered so that maybe in a few months YOU to will be the topic of my “Look at this brilliant video!” rant.

Ben – It posted onto the front page of Urban Outfitters.com – and YouTube plays do not update in real time 🙂 So tomorrow I have a sneaking suspicion it will be high!
That is is true about the youtube hits they take a while to update.. the video is great and they did drop a little subliminal message about themselves in there. What makes this win is the FACT that they didnt make it all about them they made it about everyone’s experience at SXSW as Ariel teaches you got to give be value draw them in and then bring your CTA – Call to Action… I will be checking them out…
so funny! Thanks for sharing Ariel 🙂
I’ve heard this band a lot, here and there, and the music never wildly stuck with me–however now knowing that I dig who they are as people, their music will be a lot more attractive to me. Personal connection made. We’re talking about likelihoods here–and the likelihood that I will go see a show is much increased, as is, to a lesser degree, that I might buy music. Patrick, in the comment below, is being very cynical about the impact of only a single piece of promotion. It’s all about the body of promotion, not one cross-section of it. I’ve played SxSW 4 or more times–and that video was pretty funny.
As of March 6, 2012 at 8:25 PM YouTube is showing 14,566 views – 12K not bad for a day 🙂
